The PetLink Pro app is designed for animal professionals such as Animal Control Officers (ACOs) and shelter staff in the United States, aiding them in locating lost pets in the field. When a lost pet is encountered, the professionals can utilize PetLink Pro on their mobile devices to retrieve owner information using the pet's microchip number and then submit a report to PetLink. Subsequently, PetLink will contact the owner to facilitate a smooth reunion process.

One of the convenient features of PetLink Pro is the ability to input the microchip number through various methods. Users can manually enter the number via the keypad, verbally dictate it, or even opt to scan the number using their phone's camera from an LCD display of a microchip reader. This streamlines the process significantly by hastening the transfer of the 9- or 15-digit microchip number into PetLink's search function and minimizes potential typing errors.

Operating seamlessly, PetLink Pro performs a thorough search for owner details starting from PetLink, continuing to PetLink's Backtrack system, and finally consulting the AAHA Pet microchip lookup tool if necessary.

PetLink Pro plays a pivotal role in safeguarding the well-being of lost animals. The swift reunion of a lost pet with its owner dramatically increases its chances of survival. By enabling immediate owner contact upon retrieving the pet's microchip number, US Animal Professionals can efficiently perform this task without the need to contact PetLink or utilize a computer for information retrieval.

The process of submitting a found pet report to PetLink via PetLink Pro requires just 4 simple clicks, ensuring prompt communication with owners through SMS, phone calls, and emails to arrange for reunification.

In instances where a lost pet registered on PetLink is found by an Animal Professional, PetLink Pro will display a photo of the pet (if available) for identification confirmation. Furthermore, pertinent medical information such as specific health conditions like diabetes that require regular insulin administration will be clearly displayed, enhancing overall care for lost pets.
